Services
The EU Chips Design Platform will provide startups, SMEs, research teams, and other fabless innovators across Europe with streamlined access to everything needed for chip design success: EDA tools, IP, training, testing, packaging, funding opportunities, fabrication, and a dedicated incubator and accelerator program.
Designed to help innovators move faster from idea to chip, EuroCDP serves as a virtual marketplace where users can connect with the right resources, expertise, and infrastructure at every stage of their design journey — from early concept to working prototype and on to commercialization.
By lowering barriers and offering a supportive ecosystem, the platform will empower more European companies to bring new chip designs to market, scale quickly, and succeed globally. EuroCDP is being developed for organizations in EU Member States and participating countries of the Chips Joint Undertaking, with the first services launching in January 2026 and expanding step by step as the platform evolves.
Design IP
Chip design rarely starts from scratch. Access to reliable and cost-effective IP blocks is a cornerstone of successful development.
EuroCDP connects startups and SMEs with a wide range of IP options — from commercial vendors offering flexible licensing terms to open-source IP libraries. This makes it easier for companies to find, license, and integrate the IP they need without slowing down their innovation process.
Electronic Design Automation (EDA)
A complete chip design flow requires many EDA tools, from RTL design and simulation to place-and-route and timing analysis. These tools can be complex and difficult to access, especially for young companies.
EuroCDP lowers the access barrier to EDA tools by offering options from open-source software to commercial EDA – all easy to find and access.
Expert Support – Design Enablement Teams (DETs)
Every EuroCDP user can tap into the expertise of our Design Enablement Teams (DETs) — a one-stop-shop for chip design and fabrication support.
These teams bring together leading experts from RTOs, design houses, and industry, making their know-how directly accessible to startups and SMEs. Their support is built on three pillars:
Cloud-based design infrastructure
for secure, reliable chip design workloads.
End-to-end technical support
from design setup through to validated silicon.
Supply chain access
to enable smooth, cost-effective paths from proof-of-concept through production ramp-up.
Training and Upskilling
EuroCDP is also a central hub for chip design training. Startups and SMEs will find hands-on courses in EDA tools, as well as academic and industry programs and courses covering the wider microelectronics design landscape.
All training content is reviewed by the EuroCDP training expert team to ensure high quality and practical relevance. By strengthening in-house skills, the platform not only supports immediate company needs but also builds Europe’s long-term design capability.
EuroCDP as an Accelerator
EDA licences at reduced rates. We offer two levels of support tailored to company maturity:
Incubation Program
for very early-stage startups, providing access to essential tools at nominal cost to help ideas take root.
Acceleration Program
for early-stage companies with MVPs or initial traction, providing scalable access to commercial tools at preferential rates to accelerate growth.
Value for IP and EDA Vendors and Deep Tech Investors
EuroCDP creates value not only for startups and SMEs, but also for the broader semiconductor ecosystem. For EDA and IP vendors, the platform provides direct access to a growing pool of emerging European design companies, lowering barriers for adoption and creating new long-term business opportunities. Vendors can also benefit from stronger visibility, closer collaboration, and early engagement with the next generation of chip innovators.
For deep tech investors and venture capital, EuroCDP offers a pool of pre-validated startups and SMEs. The fact that a company is admitted to the platform demonstrates a solid technological foundation and long-term product vision. This reduces risk for investors and offers a unique vantage point to track, connect with, and support promising companies. EuroCDP matchmaking activities will further strengthen links between innovators, vendors, and investors.
