New agreement expands access to Arm IP, tools and ecosystem support for startups, SMEs and research teams developing custom silicon.
The European Chip Design Platform welcomes the signing of a framework agreement between Arm and the Chips Joint Undertaking, expanding access to industry-leading semiconductor IP and development resources for Europe’s chip design community.
Arm is the world’s leading compute platform and one of the most widely adopted IP ecosystems in semiconductor design. More than 350 billion Arm-based chips have shipped to date, supported by an ecosystem of over 22 million developers worldwide.
Through the agreement, startups, SMEs leveraging EuroCDP can access Arm IP, development resources and ecosystem support, enabling them to build on industry-proven compute technology as part of their custom silicon projects. This gives teams greater flexibility to explore architectural and technology choices before committing to a final design, helping reduce development risk and keep engineering resources focused on what makes their products unique.
“Europe has no shortage of semiconductor talent or ambitious ideas. What our fabless startups need is the technology, ecosystem and support to turn that innovation into products that can compete globally. Arm brings industry-proven compute technology, deep technical support and a global software ecosystem that can help teams accelerate development, focus on product differentiation and reduce time-to-market.”

Arm offering through EuroCDP is not limited to the companies’ own design activities; Many EuroCDP Design Enablement teams have experience in Arm-based system-on-chip development, helping companies tackle design challenges and progress more efficiently towards implementation.
The addition of Arm further strengthens EuroCDP’s offering, complementing the platform’s portfolio of EDA tools, IP, design expertise, venture development services and funding opportunities available to European semiconductor innovators.
“At EuroCDP, we are committed to helping European companies access these capabilities and build on them. By combining Arm’s proven technology platform with EuroCDP’s support, we are giving Europe’s next generation of semiconductor innovators a stronger foundation to scale faster and make a global impact.”
